Everyone knows that social value is key coming into a set. Guys work overtime trying to work the room and be seen with the finest women in the venue. Where most people fall short, however, is when it comes to cultivating and maintaining that social value in your favorite hotspot.

So let’s say you go to the same venue every week or even multiple times a week. Most guys come in every time with little or no social value. Thus, every time they approach, they’ve got to generate that value all over again. This is a lot of work. Men frequently ask me, “What’s the best pickup line?”

This question usually is an indicator of three issues:

The first is the man’s basic insecurity about interacting with women. He is probably somewhat shy or anxious in most social interactions and brings this same social anxiety to his approach to women.

The second issue is a lack of understanding of women and what turns them on. Most men see women as mysterious and difficult to understand. Therefore they believe there is some “right” or “best” technique to get a woman’s attention.

In order to understand the depths of qualification beyond simple time management we need to look into some other definitions of the term. We look back even further to the philosophical conundrum known as the qualification problem. Largely considered in Artificial Intelligence, the qualification problem is concerned with listing all of the preconditions required for an action to have its intended effect within the real world. In Lay terms (excuse the pun) it is referred to as how to deal with the things that prevent me from achieving my intended result. A seemingly impossible task to say the least. Yet one we find ourselves dealing with almost everyday with regards to the world of pickup.
